Summary

Coding correctly is important for a lot of reasons, but at the most basic level, coding is how you get paid to do what you do. Good documentation is, of course, also important for patient care and liability, but it is also needed to demonstrate medical necessity. Therefore, it is critical to accurately and efficiently document what you did and accurately and efficiently assign the correct procedure and diagnosis codes.

This module covers the basics of coding, including transitional care management codes.
